The kinds of companies that may regularly perform a background check include: credit unions, churches, loan companies, government offices, health care agencies, IT firms, and banks.

 

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department – Criminal Records

 

Criminal records, as part of a background check, can be obtained from the Palm Beach County Sheriff. To visit this office, you will need to go to: 3228 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. This office can be reached at: (561) 688-3000. You can find information about the office online at: http://www.pbso.org/.

 

If you would like to order a local background check, you must request it from the Central Records Division; this office has an online presence at http://www.pbso.org/index.cfm?fa=centralrecords. Local background checks are $3 per name searched. Fingerprints are $10 per card. A photo request is $2 for a black and white booking photo or $5 each for color booking photo. A photocopy of a police report is free for the first 20 pages.
