Jackson County, Arkansas Birth Records

Jackson County had a total of 182 births in 2009; this is a decrease by 40 from the year previous, as you can see here: http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programsServices/healthStatistics/Documents/birthdata/BULLC34.PDF.

Birth Record Limitations

In Arkansas, only the person on the record, immediate family or the designated attorney handling legal matters can view the birth records in the first 100 years after creation. Then it becomes a matter of public record.

Birth Record Requirements

Birth records are only released if you fill out this form and include the following information:
http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programsServices/certificatesVitalRecords/Documents/vr-7_birth_certificate_application.pdf, with the full name of the person on the birth certificate (including maiden name), date of birth, city or town and county of birth, father’s and mother’s full names (including the mother’s maiden name), your relationship to the person on the birth record and the reason you’re requesting a birth record. In addition to making sure you are allowed access, the clerks also need to make sure that they are pulling the right record from their files.

Birth Record Fees

Birth records are $12 for the first copy (non-refundable) and $10 for each additional copy that you request at that time. Enclose a check or money order made out to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Ordering a Birth Record

You may order a birth record one of three ways: through the state’s health department, through the county health unit, and online at one of two websites. All will yield the same result.
