Birth Records: Unless you are one of the following people, you must wait 125 years before you can view the record: person named on the certificate, mother, father, or legal guardian, husband or wife of person named on certificate, son or daughter of person named on certificate, sister or brother of person named on certificate, or legal representative of an authorized person.
Death Records: Death certificates are confidential records for 25 years from the date of death; only certain individuals may obtain a death record during this time. Those persons are: mother or father of person named on certificate, husband or wife of person named on certificate, son or daughter of person named on certificate, grandchildren of person named on certificate, sister or brother of person named on certificate, legal representative of family or estate, or informant listed on death certificate as providing information. After this time has passed, death records may be obtained by anyone upon payment of the fee.
