Birth Records: Birth records are only available to the following persons: registrant (self), parents, spouse, grandparent, adult child, adult brother or sister, guardian having legal custody or control of a minor child, foster parents, attorney representing the registrant, attorney representing the biological parent(s) in an adoption proceeding, attorney representing the adoptive parent(s) in an adoption proceeding, adoption agencies representing adoptive or biological parents, persons or agencies empowered by statute or appointed by a court to act on the registrant's behalf, or anyone requesting them for genealogical reasons.
Death Records: Only the following persons can request a death record: spouse or immediate family members, attorneys representing estates, attorneys representing family members, attorneys representing persons with a legal interest, non-attorney legal interest/other vital interest, approved third party, private investigators, persons submitting requests for fetal death certificates, and anyone requesting the documents for genealogical reasons.

Search Fees: Birth records are $15, and if you need to amend a birth record, it is $25. For births recorded more than 75 years ago, it is only $5 to obtain a non-certified birth record.
Retrieval Timeframe: 15 to 20 business days

Marriage records are not maintained on a state level. You will need to contact the Clerk of the Superior Court of the county where the marriage was performed in order to obtain a copy of a marriage record.

Search Fees: The fee for a marriage record is $26.50, plus $7 shipping and handling (unless you enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your request, then shipping is free).

Notes: When requesting a divorce record, you must indicate whether you want just the divorce decree or if you want the property settlement or custody agreement as well; you must also advise whether or not this is for a name change with the Social Security Administration.
