Craighead County, Arkansas Marriage Records
Marriage License Requirements
Applying for a marriage license is the first step towards becoming legally married. Both parties must be present when applying, and you must pay a $60 cash fee. If you are over 18, you may marry without a parent’s consent. Males age 17 and females age 16-17 must have parental consent to marry. If you are over 21, all you need to provide to show proof of age is a driver’s license. For those applicants under 21, you must show a birth certificate or a military ID. You will not need a blood test, proof of residency nor a witness at your ceremony.
After the application is approved, you have 60 days to use your license, or it will expire. Regardless if you use the license or not, it must be returned during that 60 day timeframe, lest a $100 bond be levied against you. After the ceremony is completed, you have seven business days to return the license. Craighead County has complete rules for getting married online at http://www.craigheadcounty.org/pdf/marriage_lic_info.pdf.
