Pike County, Arkansas Vital Records

When viewing vital records, you are viewing the birth, death, marriage and divorce records of an individual.

Birth Records

So that birth records don’t fall into the wrong hands, they are not public until 100 years have passed after they are created in Arkansas. During this wait period, only the immediate family, the person on the record and legal counsel can view the information.

Birth records require a payment of $12 (non-refundable) for the first copy and $10 for additional copies. You will need to include this form: http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programsServices/certificatesVitalRecords/Documents/vr-7_birth_certificate_application.pdf, and this information: the full name of the person on the birth certificate (including maiden name), date of birth, city or town and county of birth, father’s and mother’s full names (including the mother’s maiden name), your relationship to the person on the birth record, and the reason you’re requesting a birth record.

Death Records

Death records have a wait period of 50 years, when only the deceased’s immediate family or a legal representative of the estate/family can see the information on a death record.

Enclose $10 (non-refundable) and $8 for each copy thereafter that you request. Fill out this form: http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programsServices/certificatesVitalRecords/Documents/vr-8_death_certificate_application.pdf, and send it in with the payment and these crucial pieces of information: the full name of the deceased, the date of death, the county or city of death, the name of the funeral home (optional), your relationship to the deceased, and your reason for requesting the certificate.
