Van Buren County, Arkansas Vital Records

 

Vital records contain information regarding major life milestones of an individual. Each event is documented in birth, death, marriage and divorce records. Sometimes they are public, and other times they are completely private. The person on the record (except for death records), the designated legal counselors and specific family members can view the record as needed. Birth records are public after 100 years and death records are public after 50 years in Arkansas.

 

Birth Records

 

Birth records, which are the first component of your vital records, will require a $12 payment (non-refundable) for the first copy and $10 for each birth record thereafter. Along with your birth record request, you will need to include the following form: http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programsServices/certificatesVitalRecords/Documents/vr-7_birth_certificate_application.pdf.

 

As part of your request, you can include this information to speed the return of your results:  the full name of the person on the birth certificate (including maiden name), date of birth, city or town and county of birth, father’s and mother’s full names (including the mother’s maiden name), your relationship to the person on the birth record, and the reason you’re requesting a birth record.

 

Death Records

 

With any death record request, you will want to include a payment of $10 (non-refundable) for the first copy and $8 for each death record thereafter that you request. This form will need to be included:  http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programsServices/certificatesVitalRecords/Documents/vr-8_death_certificate_application.pdf, as well as this information:  the full name of the deceased, the date of death, the county or city of death, the name of the funeral home (optional), your relationship to the deceased and your reason for requesting the certificate.

Marriage and Divorce Records (Coupons)

 

Marriage and divorce coupons are issued by the Arkansas Department of Health. These can be obtained with a standard fee of $10. With each request, you will also need to include the correct form:
